The Village at Grand Traverse Commons is a rare gem. If you’re from Traverse City, you know the history, the architecture, and the landmark it has always been. If you’ve been to the Village, you know the landmark that The Minervini group has transformed it into: art and specialty shops in the Mercado with businesses and residences above; and unique restaurants and tasting rooms scattered around the property.
Something you might not be aware of is that there is still plenty of space available for development. We scanned the top floor of Building 58 and created this virtual tour as a sales tool. We also put together an as-built drawing so potential developers can get a better idea how the space might work for them. Give us a shout if you’d like us to do the same for you.
Introduction
Resting at the heart of Traverse City’s beloved Village at Grand Traverse Commons, stately Building 58 stands ready for its next transformation. To aid future renovations, our team performed comprehensive scanning and 3D modeling, crafting an intricate digital replica developers could reference when envisioning possibilities.
Digitally Preserving Architectural Details
Using advanced LIDAR technology and photogrammetry, we captured even details like peeling paint, worn doorways and historic windows across millions of reference points. By compiling detailed “as-is” data, the scan serves as a precision base for overlaying redesign concepts. Just as the Village rebirthed forgotten grounds, this analysis helps unlock Building 58’s full potential.
